Childs & Albert Announces Distribution of Kavlico's FT-K01 Fuel Tester
Valencia, CA - - Childs & Albert announces distribution of Kavlico's FT-K01 Fuel Tester which is designed for, and actually used by national sanctioning bodies, racers, and engine builders to verify that fuel usage meets the standards of the racing association rules and that the fuel is "Fresh".
The tester is used to identify fuel blends based on their dielectric properties. The measurement of dielectric constant of gasoline provides a reliable indication of its hydrocarbon purity, critical information for the fuel certification process, race teams, and engine builders.
The ergonomic, one-hand grip design of the device allows the fuel inspector or diagnostician to take quick and easy fuel readings. The high stability and repeatability of the instrument provides an accurate indication of whether performance-enhancing additives containing nitrogen or oxygen have been added to the fuel.
On the racetrack, "Fuel Freshness" is critical to being competitive. As fuels
age, they may lose some of the more volatile hydrocarbons through
evaporation or oxidation thereby degrading the performance value
of the fuel that may result in costly engine damage. The FT-K01
monitors fuel consistency from the dynamometer to the racetrack,
from drum-to-drum, and during "dyno" runs to maintain accuracy,
as fuel deteriorates while sitting in the same drum.
The primary market focus for the FT-K01 is the racing circuit (NHRA,
NASCAR), Jr. dragsters, snowmobiles, motorcycles, boats, go-carts,
and more. Even high-performance street and motor homes will benefit
from having an accurate fuel mixture reading. In addition to the
racing circuit, service station operators have also shown a keen
interest in this hand-held device to insure accurate readings in
disbursement of fuel to the general driving public.
The FT-K01 is a precision instrument housed in a rugged billet aluminum
case. It measures to a two decimal place resolution and is capable
of 150 hours of continuous operation with two 9-Volt batteries.
The device has independent zero and sensitivity adjustments to insure
accuracy of reading over time. Accessory kits are available for
fuel testing and calibration.
